Before we introduce the starting lineups, we’d like for you
to meet our special teacher guest for tonight’s game. L-O-H-S is proud of our athletes, not only on the field but also
in the classroom. Academics and
athletics go hand in hand in the lives of our students. Before some of our home games, we ask a
senior player to honor a faculty member who has influenced her in reaching
classroom goals and has enriched her days here at Lake Orion High School. Tonight, our senior in the spotlight is
Alicia Tirpak, and her faculty honoree is Sheldon Weintrob.

Mr.
Weintrob attended Eastern Michigan/Wayne State University after graduating from
Cooley High School in 1968.
-Degree(s) Education/Psychology/Sociology
-Years at LOHS 34 years
-Class(es) The classes that Alicia had with Mr. Weintrob were
Psychology/Sociology
Here’s what Alicia
had to say about Mr. Weintrob
Mr.
Weintrob is one of the teachers that has helped me grow up the most. He
constantly pushes me to strive for the best and to never give up. He was part
of the reason that I applied for U of M because he assured me I had a shot at
getting in, and for that I am so grateful. He is one of the most genuine
teachers I have ever had who truly cares about what I do in the future. The day
that Mr. Weintrob retires is a sad day for Lake Orion because they are losing
one of the best teachers they have.
Ladies
and gentleman, please help us thank tonight”s senior player Alicia Tirpak, and
her honored faculty member, Mr. Sheldon Weintrob.
