Before we introduce the starting lineups, we’d like for you to meet our special teacher guest for tonight’s game.  L-O-H-S is proud of our athletes, not only on the field but also in the classroom.  Academics and athletics go hand in hand in the lives of our students.  Before some of our home games, we ask a senior player to honor a faculty member who has influenced her in reaching classroom goals and has enriched her days here at Lake Orion High School.  Tonight, our senior in the spotlight is Niki Read, and her faculty honoree is Randy McCoy.

Here’s what Niki had to say about Mr. McCoy

In my many years of soccer and schooling, I have had several great people assist me. One that stands out, because of his genuine concern for me, is Mr. McCoy. He is one of the greatest teachers I have had at Lake Orion and I have a great deal of respect for him. As a coach he has done an unbelievable job of showing that he honestly cares about my opinion as much as his own. He has great characteristics—he is hard working, smart, determined, and through it all humble. I look up to him for those things and appreciate all the extra work he has done for me. I recognize the little things he does to better the class room and for the girls soccer team. He had passion that is second to none, which should be acknowledged. I am honored to have him as a teacher and coach. I want to thank you for everything.

Ladies and gentleman, please help us thank tonight’s senior player Niki Read, and her honored faculty member, Mr. McCoy.
